London Calling, Again. Dinner Anyone?

Union JackI am speaking at the Emetrics summit in London this week and looking forward to the event (Mr. Finlay and Mr. Sterne have ensured each event they present is better than the last one!).

I was wondering if anyone would like to get together for dinner on Friday night, March 30th.

When we did this in November, over some excellent tapas, we talked about web analytics, our challenges and solutions, the weather, the Queen and pretty much everything in between.

We can meet at Hotel Russell (Russell Square, London WC1B 5BE) in the lobby at 1800 hrs and go some place close by (I am not familiar with the location so please suggest a appropriate place for dinner).

If you are interested please email me at blog at kaushik dot net (or add a comment below).

I would love to meet some of our blog readers, or web analytics practitioners, since we have so many in the UK.

Thanks.

Hi, we (me and my collegue from SNSbank, the Netherlands) will attend the congres. Flying back to the Netherlands on saturday, so dinner on friday would be a good plan (lots of guys probably already leaving on friday?). Count us in as web (analytics) evangelists from a dutch Bank.

I'm up for this too, please.

Last time the Tapas bar in question was found as a result of a discussion on the blog. I hope we can find somewhere equally good here this time.

The only places I know in the area are frighteningly noisy, which is probably not a good idea since we'll want to talk.

    hi, Avinash, how are you?

I would love to have done this, but am moving house over the weekend unfortunately!

It would have been great to meet you too, Tim – I was a R.A.D. subscriber back in the day & a huge fan of your work. Perhaps we can meet up next time I'm in London?

Avanish – I've in London Wednesday/Thursday for some fun and games at a TV show launch. Shame I couldn't stick around a bit longer, as I'd love to meet you for a chat. Ah well!

    Enjoy yourself on Friday!

    Avanish,

Do you really need to ask me? Of course I'll be there.

    All the best

    Count me in Avinash! :-)

I am at Search Engine Strategies in Munich as we speak (Matthew is here as well) – but I will over for Emetrics London of course. So add a Mojito to those Tapas.. talk to you at the conference.

    Cheers..

    Hi Avinash,

Yes, I'll be there. Love to meet you.

But I agree with Tim that we should have a discussion on where to go. Will make my suggestion later.

    Best,
    Gianni

Sounds like we might end up organising some kind of flash mob! We might need somewhere which can handle quite a crowd.

Daniel: I tried to mail you via the form on the Omstrategy site, but if that did not reach you, my gmail.com account is tim.lboyce — the R.a.D aspect of my life certainly fits with Avinash's theory that web analytics people have often done slightly surprising things in the past. I can make a case for a consistent theme, though: the magazine work came out working in mail order (I now work in e-commerce) and then the web analytics began in 94 when I took the collaborative 'places' database out of the magazine and started publishing it on the web. So it makes some kind of sense, honest! All of it was about customer experience one way or another.

    Avinash,

It would have been good to see you, but I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it down to London tomorrow. I'll try and catch up with you next time — or maybe you could schedule a day up in Cambridge next time!

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to Friday night dinner, but it was good to meet you earlier on!
